Two everyday favourites and one cosy upgrade.
Your morning coffee. A hot chocolate on the sofa. A little something special for a slower weekend.
Finding a way to enjoy sea moss doesn’t always mean learning a whole new recipe. Sometimes, you can start with a drink you already make.
These three ideas use BOOD Original Sea Moss Gel, leaving you free to add your favourite coffee, chocolate and spices.
Pick your mug—here’s how to give it a little twist.
1. Your Everyday Coffee
For the “don’t speak to me until I’ve had my coffee” mornings.
Keep your usual coffee order. Whether you make instant, use a cafetière or have a favourite coffee machine, this starts with what you already enjoy.

You’ll need:
- Your usual mug of coffee
- Milk and sweetener, if you normally use them
- 1 teaspoon BOOD Original Sea Moss Gel to start
Method:
- Make your coffee as usual and add your preferred milk.
- In a separate cup, mix the gel with a small splash of the warm coffee.
- Whisk thoroughly, then stir the mixture back into your mug. A handheld milk frother can help disperse the gel.
- Sweeten to taste, if you like.
Keep it simple: Try it in a milky coffee first if you prefer a creamier drink. The gel may change the texture, so start with a small amount and see what you enjoy.
2. Classic Hot Chocolate
For darker evenings, a favourite blanket and something good to watch.
No homemade chocolate sauce required. Use the hot chocolate you already have in the cupboard.

You’ll need:
- Your favourite hot chocolate powder, in the amount recommended on the packet
- Approximately 200–250ml milk or a plant-based alternative, following the packet instructions
- 1 teaspoon BOOD Original Sea Moss Gel to start
Method:
- Prepare your hot chocolate according to the packet instructions.
- Once you’ve finished heating it, whisk in the sea moss gel until evenly mixed.
- Pour into your favourite mug.
Make it yours: Add a pinch of cinnamon, or keep it classic and chocolatey.
3. Vanilla Cinnamon Latte
For when your everyday coffee deserves a little upgrade.
A touch of vanilla, warm milk and a dusting of cinnamon make this feel a little more special without a long shopping list.

You’ll need:
- 1 espresso shot or approximately 50ml strong coffee
- 150–200ml milk or a plant-based alternative
- A few drops of vanilla extract
- A small pinch of ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon BOOD Original Sea Moss Gel to start
- Sugar or syrup, optional
Method:
- Make the espresso or strong coffee and pour it into a mug.
- Gently warm the milk with the vanilla, without bringing it to the boil.
- Remove from the heat. Add the sea moss gel and whisk thoroughly—a handheld milk frother is useful here.
- Pour the milk mixture into your coffee.
- Finish with a light dusting of cinnamon and sweeten to taste.
Make a moment of it: Put your phone down, find a comfortable seat and give yourself a few minutes to enjoy it.
A Little Mixing Advice
Sea moss gel can change a drink’s thickness and may not disperse completely with a quick stir. Whisk well and give your drink another stir if it settles.
The teaspoon suggested here is a starting amount for trying the recipes, rather than a separate daily serving recommendation. Follow the guidance on your jar and count any gel used in drinks towards your total daily amount. Keep the remaining gel refrigerated.
Which Mug Are You Reaching For?
Everyday coffee, classic hot chocolate or a vanilla cinnamon upgrade?
Start with whichever you already look forward to. You don’t need a cupboard full of new ingredients—just a familiar favourite and a little curiosity.
